William "Will Pig" was a black American Satin guinea pig who I adopted from the
Lee County Human Society in the spring of 2004. Like Turbo, Will also lived in the dorm with me. I was able to develope quite the ingenius system of sneaking him in and out. Sadly, in the fall of 2004, William becamse depressed. He started pulling his hair out and biting everyone—something he had never done before. So, thinking that he was probably lonely, we went out and bought him a buddy,
Vincent VanPigh. After that, he couldn't have been happier. He lived with us and became my best rodent friend for about a year-and-a-half and lived to be about 2½-years-old. The last few months of his life, he developed a life-threatening infection called
Bumblefoot. Unfortunately, despite weeks of treatment, the infection eventually spread to his liver and kidneys. In the end, my little man hung on for three days, but his little body just couldn't do it anymore, and he died in my arms.
